compliance with the applicable Sharia guidelines.

Enter the weight of your gold in grams
✔ Click on the "Calculate" button
The total due Zakat will appear in Saudi Riyals or US Dollars

Conditions for Zakat on Gold

Zakat becomes obligatory when four conditions are met:

1- The person must be Muslim.

2- The person must have full ownership of the gold.

3- The gold must reach the minimum threshold (nisab), which

is equivalent to 85 grams of pure gold.

4- A full lunar year must pass (the Prophet ﷺ said:

"There is no Zakat on wealth until a year has passed on it").

Amount of Zakat to be Paid

Once the conditions for Zakat are met, the amount of Zakat due is 2.5% of the total value of the

gold subject to Zakat, based on the current market price in Saudi Arabia at the time of payment.

Here's an example:

If you own 100 grams of 21K gold and the price per gram at the time of paying Zakat is around

250 SAR, then:
 Total value of the gold = 250 × 100 = 25,000 SAR
 Amount of Zakat = 2.5% of 25,000 = 625 SAR

You can use the Gold Zakat Calculator on the Gold.sa website to get the exact result based on the

carat and current price.
